Monday: Sun Day

Well today is SO sunny outside, but dreadfully cold.  BUT I'm hopeful that today is the doorway to the warmer weather.  Tomorrow is supposed to be 55 and sunny, and it's only going to get better.  A bit of rain and what not may be coming sometime in the near future, but nothing that looks too detrimental.  Well today was an ok day. I helped Kyle get out the door for school, then he was able to come home early because his classes were canceled. So, I was able to see him before he went to work.  Today he works different hours than normal, and he will be home at a decent time tonight!  Today, I walked to the little workout place and had a nice workout.  I came home and worked on laundry and dishes.  It's so silly that two people have the laundry and dishes that we do.  I'm not sure how it all accumulates.  I feel like there's something wrong with us, I can only imagine what it will be like when there's more of us--in the future that is.  I am just looking forward to the nice weather.  Sometimes I wonder if and how people read these, I am all over the place.  It's really just my thoughts as they come to me.  No rhyme or reason, but it's me :)

Ending the weekend: Sunday

Well its Sunday. We are ending our long weekend with Kyle doing homework and I'm watching movies. Yesterday we spent the day at home cleaning it up, and Kyle even cleaned Ralph's little home! I worked out yesterday while Kyle went to help his friend move his tv. Later last night, we over to Matt's house for pizza and to watch the UFC fights. It was fun. Today we watched Bury my heart ay wounded knee. Kyle had to watch it for a class and write a paper on it. The movie was very sad. I found it interesting too. It made me think, and I realized that I don't know very much about history. Tonight I'm going to make homemade chicken pot pie. I've never made it before, but Kyle thinks it sounds good.
A new week is starting. With new weather too! I cannot wait. I also hope I get to start working soon! I really want to. Hopefully, something will happen for me soon! Until then.... I plan to occupy myself with going outside and enjoying myself.
We get to go to Illinois in a couple of weekends. My brother is in the Mr. Spartan contest at school. I'm so excited to watch. Its a beautyish contest for the senior boys at the school. Another thing I'm looking forward to is this Tuesday we have friends coming from Michigan and Wisconsin down to Missouri. They're going to be staying with some of our other friends about 45 minutes away. It will be fun to see them! March is going to be a good month! The weekend after getting back from Illinois, we are going to Seattle, Washington for an army thing. We get to spend the weekend there most expenses paid by the army. We have to go to meetings throughout the weekend, but we will get to be in Seattle and I've never been there. We are going to go to the space needle! Yay! Well I'm posting from my phone because Kyle is using my computer, so I'm going to be done for now!

Snow Day

Yesterday it snowed like 40 billion inches and also some ice came down...Well it didn't snow 40 billion inches for real, but it sure seemed like it never stopped!  When we woke this morning, we had a snow day.  Kyle had no classes and no army.  We couldn't leave our apartment complex.  It's so silly, the road crew neglects our roads and makes it close to impossible to get out of here.  There are a few little hills here and there, but they seem much bigger when they are covered with ice and we don't have 4 wheel drive.  Oh well, we spent a nice day together.  We were lazy, we watched tv, and played some cribbage.  We're both sore because "trainer" Kyle was very brutal last night, he was very demanding that I get up and do my exercises.  I kept telling him, "This is no job for my husband!"  "You're killing me!"  "This isn't fair!"  "Your wife is going to get very angry at you soon!"  but he kept pushing me to do more.  My legs and abs are killing me to say the least.  I feel better though knowing that Kyle is very sore as well!

Tomorrow, I don' know what is on the agenda.  I wish it was going to be nice outside, but I know there will still be snow and ice out there.  It just makes me want to stay in and do nothing.  Game day maybe?  We'll see.  I am excited though, because next week is supposed to be great and warm! I can't wait to open the windows again and go outside!  Until next time...Love.

Eye Opening

Weighing heavy on my mind and heart are the children in Africa.  I was reading my friend's blog from yesterday and it was about how children are being targeted as human sacrifices.  She posted that she and her husband support a child in Uganda, and even though it's not directly affecting them, it is still affecting them.  She wrote that  the children are being abducted and stolen from their families to be sacrificed. The children are sacrificed to achieve "wealth" of different kinds by their abductors.  It is so sad to me, thinking about the helpless children, who live in fear for their lives at such a young age.  Not only are these children facing hardship economically, but now they face being taken to be sacrificed.  After reading her blog, my heart sank. It is so easy to be caught up in everything we have to do in our own lives. Focusing only on ourselves, when there is a whole world out there. I myself am guilty of being caught up in the things around me, but I do realize there's more out there, and I hope to be more in tune with what's going on in the world.

Productiveness

Nice weather is very helpful when it comes to being productive....for me at least.

Well, yesterday was a success if I do say so myself :)

I made Kyle an all homemade dinner that included, a roast, red potatoes, baby carrots, onions, fresh mushrooms, fresh garlic, and peppercorns.  I also made homemade gravy, homemade rolls, and for dessert, homemade cinnamon rolls. He really enjoyed it, and I had a great time preparing it.  I love to cook and bake!  I love to see what's in my cabinets and refrigerator and see what I can create.  Sometimes it's something delicious, other times it's just mediocre. He always eats what I cook and claims to like it, but there are times he raves about it and oooos and ahhhhs over the food and other times he just says it's good and eats it.  A true test is if he eats leftovers.
Another reason yesterday was such a success for me was because I cleaned my house, finished up dishes and did laundry.  With all of that, I opened my windows and the door to the balcony and let the fresh air refresh our home.  I also managed to get in a mile and a half run and did a little ab workout and a little yoga.  It felt so good to get everything accomplished yesterday.
Now if only the weather would allow me to go out and enjoy the great outdoors!  This morning we woke up and it was snowing.  How can the weather go from mid 60s to mid 30s and snowing over night.  I do not like it!  I wish it would just stay nice.  I am so much more productive and happy when it's nice outside.  Winter is depressing. I like fall, spring, and summer much more than winter!  I hope that the weather will do a 180 and stay nice until forever :)  I know it won't, but a girl can dream right?!

Bright Shiny Days

My family came to visit for President's Day weekend.  It was the best!  I love them being here, here being with us, and I cannot wait until we live closer to them.  They came on Sunday and left on Tuesday.  We spent Sunday hanging out and playing games at my house.  Then, we met Kyle's family out for dinner.  After dinner, we went back to the hotel to swim and sit in the hot tub.  The next day, we met up for breakfast. We were trying to find a place on the food network, but it ended up being shut down.  We ended up using our GPS to find a new place to eat, we went to Chubby's on Broadway.  It was a diner and it had good food.  The channel 9 news was there and interviewed Kyle and I about our views on the mayor and what we wanted the new one to focus on.  Well, neither of us knew what to say right on the spot, so hopefully we didn't get put on the news!  After breakfast, we spent the day at Coco Keys indoor water park.  It was a lot of fun, and Sophie had a really great time with Kyle.  We all had a good time.  After the day at the park, we had dinner at Jack Stack BBQ.  It was SO much food!  We all came back to our house and played games and hung out.  Sophie spent the night with us, and everyone else came back Tuesday.  Everyone left on Tuesday, and I cannot wait to see them again!  Well, it's 60 degrees outside, so I'm going to try to enjoy it because it's going to snow tomorrow.

Belly Button Lint?

Well this is a silly topic for a post, but I am so curious about it!  The other day Kyle and I were watching TV and  he was not wearing a shirt.  I looked over and saw something BLUE coming out of his belly button.  "What is that!?" I asked...and he pulled it out and said oh just belly button lint.  I was like WHAT?  I've heard of it, but always thought it was a joke.  I don't think I've ever known anyone with belly button lint.  I know I surely have never personally experienced it!  What about you?  So, once hearing about it, I called my mom.  I asked her if she ever has had belly button lint, she said no.  So I asked her if my dad ever has, and she said he had.  So is it only men who get it?  Or do women too?  It's so foreign to me, but apparently, Kyle has it daily.  It's just part of his routine everyday to get the lint out of his belly button.  So the question on the day is HAVE YOU EVER HAD BELLY BUTTON LINT?

Also, I joined this new site today.  SniqueAway.  It gives you great deals on great places to "snique" away too. :)  Click here to join!  If you join through my link I get bonus credits added to my account!  Enjoy!

The real Valentines Day

Well it's Valentines Day.  I spent my day at an interview and running errands.  I feel like I got a lot accomplished for the time I was out and about.  Well, Kyle and I ended up spending Saturday renting a movie and eating Chinese. Then Sunday, was our date day.  We started off by going to church, then we came home.  We ran some errands and come home.  Kyle did homework, I ironed, and we played a few games of cribbage.  I won! :) Then we drew a surprise date place to eat.  Kyle still won't tell me where it is because he's taking me there on a secret date some other time.  We went to outback instead because it's close to our movie theater and we wanted to see a movie.  Sunday is right before Monday and we wanted to be home at a decent time because we both had a busy day.  So our "Valentines Day" was wonderful and THE Valentines Day is ok.  He's working now.  Sunday and today were BEAUTIFUL days!  It was 50, we had our sliding door open while we played games on Sunday.  It was so nice to see the sun and not wear a coat!  I hope it stays this way until summer.  Now I am going to make heart shaped whoopie pies filled with peanut butter filling for my favorite valentine when he comes home from work :)

Valentines Day and Target

I stopped in at my local Target this afternoon to pick a few things up.  When I walked in the store, it was Valentines Day mayhem! Hearts, pink, and red everywhere, not to mention the shoppers on some kind of mission to find the perfect Valentines Day gift or card there.  I must admit that there were a few Valentines Day things on my list too, but it was different.  The people in the store had that "look" in their eyes, like it was black Friday or something!  I'm not a debbie downer, I love every holiday as much or even more than most people, but Target shoppers today were silly.  I started in the card isle, bad idea.  There were 5 men standing back as far as possible from the cards, trying to find the perfect card.  Let me just tell you, it wasn't there!  The cards were awful!  As I stood there, surrounded by men, whose hands were all on their chins, as if contemplating which card would be alright for their person, I laughed when reading the cards.  Some of them were so long, I got bored reading them!  Others were so dumb, I don't even know how they made it into production. AND they way the care are categorized, please.  An example of a romantic card was, "not even all the heart shaped chocolates in the world could measure up to your sweetness."  I'm sorry, but I don't find that romantic in the least bit.  After finally finding a card that was not completely ridiculous, I picked up a few other items I needed, and ended up in THE Valentines Day section of the store.  It was crawling with people and their children shopping for the all important Valentines Day parties at school on Monday.  While looking at candy, a little girl about 10 and her mother walked up and she PROCLAIMED---"We're only giving everyone 1!  Look at this pack it comes in 8's, what kids really want is 8!" Her mother then reminded her that they were also including cupcakes and other candy.  When hearing that, the girl sighed and said, "Well I think we should still give 8!"  I just had to tell someone, since my hubby is playing xbox.  Well I guess I didn't tell anyone, at least I wrote it down.  After my adventure all over Target, I finally reached the checkout and there were shopping carts EVERYWHERE!  People had not been putting them back, ok not a big deal to me, but then there were Target employees standing around the bathroom talking to each other looking at the carts.  I'm not positive, but I think it's their job to put them back in a somewhat orderly manner.  I love Target, and have been quite happy with how friendly and helpful our Target employees here in KC are, but it was a MESS in there today!  On a side note, there is a guy who works at a Target we go to every once in a while (because it's not across the street from us like OUR Target is) and his name is FRIEND.  Weird right?  When we first saw it, we thought it was not his name, but they were paging him and he said, "My name is Friend, can I help you find something?"  So there you have it, Friend works at a Target near me :)

Unbelievable

Well, I know I just posted the longest blog ever, but I was looking at my facebook and in the "stalkerfeed" part, there was a photo of a guy must be a friend of a friend, because I'm not sure who he is. Anyways, he was wearing a red t-shirt with white letters on it from Urban Outfitters.  No big deal right, WRONG.  The shirt had a message on it, but the letters were organized in lines and not words. The phrase or whatever you call it was so inappropriate, I have typed it over and over in different way, but keep deleting it.  No matter what way I write it, it is just too inappropriate for me to blog.  The message was fml, but spelled out completely.  UGH. I cannot believe first, someone would wear this, and second that someone designed it.  Just is so not classy to me.  I cannot imagine anyone wearing or buying such a shirt.  Seeing someone walking down the sidewalk wearing it...no thank you.  It is mind boggling to me.

I haven't cleaned my cookware, but I've done other things

Yesterday I didn't have time to go to the store or clean my cookware. I'm thinking it will happen tomorrow or over the weekend.  Instead of going to the store or cleaning my pots and pans, I cleaned my house.  It seems silly since only two of us live here, but one of us is a little sloppy and dust is always present.  So I vacuumed everything and dusted.  I changed our sheets and did laundry.  I cleaned both bathrooms and put things away.  I also finished our ironing.  Instead of cooking last night, I ordered online from Pizza Hut.  Kyle wanted wings because it was 50 cent wing night.  I placed my order at 6:30, and asked that it be delivered at 8 when Kyle got home from work.  Unfortunately, it was not here, so I called Pizza Hut at 8:30.  They said it was on the way, and gave us a $3 discount.  When the delivery boy got here, he said he couldn't find out apartment and was driving around looking for it.  He was not wearing a coat either, and it was FREEZING last night.  I still cannot figure out why he would be a delivery boy and not wear a coat.  Our wings were alright, nothing to rave about or anything, but they eventually got here and we had a late dinner.
Today, Kyle and I went to the grocery.  We bought enough food to last us quite a while, I think.  It's just hard to decide what to get, especially when Kyle is completely uninterested in it.  I think from now on I will plan a menu and shop in that fashion (possibly alone too.)  While in the grocery, I got a phone call from an unrecognized number, and  when I answered it, it was for an interview.  They wanted to interview me today, but I'm going to babysit Kyle's cousin's little boy this afternoon/ night.  So I have an interview tomorrow afternoon with MP Incorporated.  I am excited, but also nervous.  I get so nervous when interviewing.  I don't think that it effects my outward appearance, but inside I am super conscious of everything I'm saying and doing and vice versa.
When we got home from the store, Kyle changed Ralph's water.  Ralph is our pet, a beta fish.  I changed his water the first time, and after that decided it would be the last.  It was soo gross and smelly.  I gagged the whole time, and just couldn't take it!  Well, Ralph seems like a happy little fish now, but we threw away his rocks and are going to get new ones today.  The rocks that came with the cute little fish thing we bought were tiny and really hard to clean.  SO we're going to get glass beads that are larger to put in the bottom.  Tomorrow is Friday!  I really like the weekends, even though I don't do anything during the week, because Kyle spends more time at home with me, and that's how I like it.  I can't wait to be busy again.  I'm trying to enjoy my down time, but it's starting to be extremely annoying.  I feel like a caged animal.  If it was nice outside and I could go for a walk, go to the pool, or just be outside, I would be a lot more content.  BUT I'm stuck inside, alone, and bored....Hopefully I get a job soon!  Cheers until next time!

Stubborn Cookware

We have stainless steel cookware, and it is very difficult to clean to my satisfaction.  The cookware was so pretty when I pulled it out of the box, but after the first time cooking with it, it completely changed.  The inside bottoms of the skillets turned a weird color and look dirty no matter what I did.  So, today I went to trusty Google, to see if there was anything I could do.  There are a lot of different suggestions, like using baking soda, vinegar, and bar keepers friend.  I found this article I really like here! I am very excited to see how it works!  I'm going to go to the store later on today to get what I need, and I'll post photos after the cleaning happens.  I'm hoping it works, because I hate the way my pots and pans look!

Here we go!

First, let me start by saying I am not a writer.  I do not live a glamorous or adventurous life either.  I am a just a girl, who married the guy of my dreams, and moved to a new place to start a new life.  I will probably blog about my latest hobbies, what I make for dinner, things my little sister says, stories about my hubby, and our life in general.
